Telling My Stories and Discovering Your Stories

Thursday Thirteen #11
03/15/07

A story about a day at the beaches with photos. Yes. Beaches. Yes. This is where we went when we had the Zipcar in February.

Each image opens a larger image.
These are a portion of a larger collection.

So, way back when, we went touring two spots on the
Connecticut Beach along Long Island Sound.
Our first stop was Sherwood Island State Park.
As soon as I arrived I thought of daisies@pluckthepetal.
This is officially the first time I've ever seen a "calm blue ocean."

A swan? In salt water? Is this right?

Yes. Of course Shelbie the bird dog went with us.

Billy is a very patient and gracious man.
He did find ways to entertain himself.
Check the album to see his real location.
See those seashells he was holding for me?

There were seashells here, there ...

~ AND E V E R Y W H E R E ~

Then we went to Silver Sands State Park

And very reluctantly we went home.

There are 24 more photos plus
the large versions of these in my Picasa Album

I enjoy your comments. And I want you to enjoy reading each other's comments. To that end purpose, I moderate comments. If you're impatient, MeeboMe.

Commenting Ideas
  • If you do not have a blog or site, skip the "web site" line, pull a name or "handle" out of your head, write a note, push the button. (No excuses!)
  • If this entry reminds you of a story of a similar place in time in your life, you are welcome to tell your story.
  • If you discover your story is taking more than 3 or 4 paragraphs (and if you have a place on the web for your writings), I will not be insulted if you take your story back and finish it at your own site. But then I will be disappointed if you don't come back and leave me a summary of your story and a link -- in the comments.
  • If you have already written a story about a similar place in time, please feel free to leave a summary and a link.
  • It's never too late to make a comment or tell a story.

I love going to the beach, too. I don't care if it's calm or stormy. I love being there! Thank you for sharing your pictures.

~ Mmm it's true there's nothing like a stormy ocean visit. ~pam

And I thought that the Gulf was beautiful! Those pictures are amazing...especially the one of the sea oats. Makes me want to visit!

~ Well come on up! I'm not sure those are sea oats but I keep forgetting to ask people in the know around here. ~pam

Oooh nice - i have never seen an ocean so calm. I really like the moon shot. And I don't think i've ever seen so many shells like that! Billy looks good in his hat. I realized this weekend that I too wonder off to entertain my self while my hubby takes pictures. I'll have to post pics of my weekend at the coast soon.

~ Oh let me know when you put them up! ~pam

My website is largely my memoir ... my musings, photos, encounters, life's stories.

But what really thrills me is that when I let go of my stories, it's like sending out little sail boats out on expeditions. Very often they come back to me filled with other people's stories. Continue...
