Announcement #1 ~ Ta DA! A New Granddaughter ~ As if by magic ...
08/04/08

I have a few announcements. Announcement #1 is that my granddaughter, Noel, was born on a temperature record-breaking day in May. Yes, I've been quietly relishing this event. Photo after Photo in my email. Do you want to see some?

Newborn NoelThis is Noel just a few hours old. She inherited her mother's little stork bite birth mark. If Noel is lucky, in second grade, she will send her teacher into a panic when it shows up while playing outside on the playground. It doesn't show unless the face is warm from exertion or crying and eventually it ends up on top of the head.

I'm starting to transfer Sarah's comments that go with the photos that are up on Flickr. She's as funny as her mother and daughter. And I have more pics that I received over the last few days. I'm very very happy to be living in the digital age. Now, next step is to teach Sarah how to put the pics on Flickr or Picasa.

I get to go see them in October ... and my son and his family, too! I might also visit my parents and brothers. We'll see if they show up to visit with us.

Ok go see the rest over on Flick'r.

Oh wait! I can't believe I forgot to mention this ... She is Elise #5 ... The line of Elise girls goes like this ... Noel Elise is the first born daughter(& currently only) of a first born daughter of a first born & only daughter of an only daughter of an only daughter. Sooo You see ... as an Elise ... her gene's have a lot of training in the "life as the spoiled & privileged." We've all often been the only or first girl in the entire extended family, too.

Ok now go explore the life of Noel.

I enjoy your comments. And I want you to enjoy reading each other's comments. To that end purpose, I moderate comments. If you're impatient, MeeboMe.

Commenting Ideas
  • If you do not have a blog or site, skip the "web site" line, pull a name or "handle" out of your head, write a note, push the button. (No excuses!)
  • If this entry reminds you of a story of a similar place in time in your life, you are welcome to tell your story.
  • If you discover your story is taking more than 3 or 4 paragraphs (and if you have a place on the web for your writings), I will not be insulted if you take your story back and finish it at your own site. But then I will be disappointed if you don't come back and leave me a summary of your story and a link -- in the comments.
  • If you have already written a story about a similar place in time, please feel free to leave a summary and a link.
  • It's never too late to make a comment or tell a story.

Congratulations on your new granddaughter. I loved reading your cell phone conversations as the date drew near ("have you told them that *you're* pretty small?"). So glad that Noel is healthy. It is like magic, isn't it?

~ Hi Merredith! Thanks. I've been enjoying your blog, too. ~pam

My website is largely my memoir ... my musings, photos, encounters, life's stories.

But what really thrills me is that when I let go of my stories, it's like sending out little sail boats out on expeditions. Very often they come back to me filled with other people's stories. Continue...
