MarillaAnne's del.icio.us Thursday Thirteen #7
01/25/07

These are just a few of the tools that widens the chasm between Firefox and IE7 ... yes even IE7. I literally no longer know how to function on the web without these tools.

I enjoy your comments. And I want you to enjoy reading each other's comments. To that end purpose, I moderate comments. If you're impatient, MeeboMe.

Commenting Ideas
  • If you do not have a blog or site, skip the "web site" line, pull a name or "handle" out of your head, write a note, push the button. (No excuses!)
  • If this entry reminds you of a story of a similar place in time in your life, you are welcome to tell your story.
  • If you discover your story is taking more than 3 or 4 paragraphs (and if you have a place on the web for your writings), I will not be insulted if you take your story back and finish it at your own site. But then I will be disappointed if you don't come back and leave me a summary of your story and a link -- in the comments.
  • If you have already written a story about a similar place in time, please feel free to leave a summary and a link.
  • It's never too late to make a comment or tell a story.

Hey, I've thought about going back to using firefox but I'll put it on my list of things to do after I get my computers cleaned up...and some other stuff LOL

I'll be trying the hot water and lemon juice! I'm about desperate this cough is making me nutts!!!

I let Sam put up her own post since it's her birthday - she's a girl of few words LOL

have a good weekend - we're headed to the beach in the morning! :)

~Oh I am so glad you're feeling well enough to go. I hope you survive this move! You'll love going back to Firefox. Let me know when you do. there's at least four more add-ons I use that I didn't list. ~pam

Great info; thanks for the list! I'm frightened out of my wits by half of these - I am such a weenie with techno stuff. But one day when I feel brave (and like the earth won't fall off its axis if I push the wrong button)I will try these! Thanks for visiting, and for the comment! Happy Thursday,
Dk

~Pushing the wrong button is nearly impossible. If you (or anyone) need a coach, drop me a note, we'll figure out some way to communicate you through this. ~pam

Happy TT! I would love to have you as my in-home computer tutor for you are an amazing resource! I don't know if you're self-taught or computer-schooled, but you sure do know your stuff--I'm impressed!

~LOL I do have some computer school'n but I never use it and never will use it because it's all now ancient technology. This is the stuff I've learned taking care of me and family and friends. I found out that I do something that not everybody does. I actually listen to the hardware. One friend was having miserable times hand feeding special paper through her printer until I taught her to listen to it. Then I realized I listen to my pc to figure out what my software is doing.

I bet you are listening to your scanner and don't even realize it :) So, next if you listen for your hard drive to work (which is getting more difficult because they are getting quieter), you'll know when the image is actually through saving -- not that you have to wait before doing anything else ... you'll just know your tools a little better.

BTW ... I'd work for food and shelter if you fly me out to Maui
;~) pam
I have never tried Foxfire. I, too, am a weenie when it comes to techo stuff. But I may give it a try. Thanks for visiting my TT and the comment.

~Drop me a note if you decide to do it. ~pam

I ought to start using firefox.

Regarding your comment on my site about using blogspot to create html, FrontPage can do the same thing, only better.

~Mmmm I have a long standing dislike for FrontPage. I have toyed with loading my copy of Dreamweaver or Mozilla's SeaMonkey which is a full Internet suite that contains an HTML editor + ...

But really when I say I use blogspot to convert small amounts of blurbage into HTML. I mean very small amounts ... very seldom ... like not worth my drive space to install another program. My digital images are Taking OVer.
~pam
I don't use firefox so most of your post is lost on me.

Thanks so much for your visit to my TT earlier.

Your comment about straightening up your back when you read about my hubby's back made me laugh and him too~!

Thanks :-)

~LOL it was such a sudden and spontaneous response that I had to laugh. I'm glad ya'll thought it was funny, too. ~pam

I prefer IE7:-)

Thanks for stopping by my Sunflower blog and supporting me! Welcome back anytime.

~Everyone likes working in different ways. I am on the pc so much that I have to find tools that alleviate and avoid pain and increase my time (in that order). The add-ons for Firefox do exactly this.

Personalizing the Firefox add-ons creates a very customized workspace. It does take some time and focus at first. But I recently discovered exactly how efficient my customized my workspace is when I tried to work from my husband's pc. It was so exhausting and frustrating that I gave up.

Anyway the point is, everyone works in their own way. IE7 allows you to work in your way. Firefox is better for me and my priorities.

I noticed Chickadee is most interested in increasing your exercise routine :)

Ok, I know I'm terribly ignorant, but what is the del.icio.us thing?

~ Lori, you are not ignorant. Your focus just isn't always on geeky stuff. But since it's caught your attention, let me refer you to another post ... Friends Write: "What is del.icio.us" ~pam
KarenW 01/26/07
Great list! I use Firefox but some of those add ons are new to me. I'll have to check them out.

~ Thanks! My husband loves add-ons and has even more than me. He introduced me to quite a few of them ... and "gifted" me with Splitter one day when I was whining about a need. He just did a search and "poof" there it was! It amazes me what's out there in Add-on land. ~pam

My website is largely my memoir ... my musings, photos, encounters, life's stories.

But what really thrills me is that when I let go of my stories, it's like sending out little sail boats out on expeditions. Very often they come back to me filled with other people's stories. Continue...
