Telling My Stories and Discovering Your Stories

21 Days Until Christmas
12/04/06

And the people waited for Zacharias, and marveled that he lingered so long in the temple.

But when he came out, he could not speak to them; and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple, for he beckoned to them and remained speechless.

So it was, as soon as the days of his service were completed, that he departed to his own house. Now after those days his wife Elizabeth conceived; and she hid herself five months, saying, "Thus the Lord has dealt with me, in the days when He looked on me, to take away my reproach among people." Luke 1:21-25 NKJV

I enjoy your comments. And I want you to enjoy reading each other's comments. To that end purpose, I moderate comments. If you're impatient, MeeboMe.

Commenting Ideas
  • If you do not have a blog or site, skip the "web site" line, pull a name or "handle" out of your head, write a note, push the button. (No excuses!)
  • If this entry reminds you of a story of a similar place in time in your life, you are welcome to tell your story.
  • If you discover your story is taking more than 3 or 4 paragraphs (and if you have a place on the web for your writings), I will not be insulted if you take your story back and finish it at your own site. But then I will be disappointed if you don't come back and leave me a summary of your story and a link -- in the comments.
  • If you have already written a story about a similar place in time, please feel free to leave a summary and a link.
  • It's never too late to make a comment or tell a story.

Thanks!

I decided to see if I can sort of maybe come close to sort of having images that go with the Christmas story.

I needed a host of people and I remembered this shot of my mom's Christmas tree. It was the sixth digital image ever taken with my first camera. Billy, though, took it as I recall.

All those little people are my children and nieces and nephews in various stages of their lives. In the large image, if you get out your magnifying glass, you will see that some of them are dressed up for a Christmas pagent. When they were little, they would act out the Christmas play on Christmas eve.

Ohhhh the photos my dad has!

see the joy

Wow, you know its been a long time since i've thought of those Christmas pageants. I remember the itchy beards of the Wiseman (or maybe it was a Shepherd) but how great it was to play Mary - of course not all in the same year.

I too think its great what you're doing with the scripture and the pictures.

I'm checking each day, too. What fun! I LOVE this tree. Is it fantastic! Oh, if I ever get organized enough, wouldn't I love to do this!

LOL Ok, Sophie! Secret: My mom didn't make those little picture ornaments of us kids ... Those are her GRANDchildren. You see all good things in all good time ;-)

I love how this is turning into an Easter egg hunt (with all the great tid-bits being added inside) so unless something really big happens ... the rest of the blog is inside the comments ... let's see if they can find us ... hehehe ... don't you just love Christmas secrets :-D

My website is largely my memoir ... my musings, photos, encounters, life's stories.

But what really thrills me is that when I let go of my stories, it's like sending out little sail boats out on expeditions. Very often they come back to me filled with other people's stories. Continue...
