Telling My Stories and Discovering Your Stories

Ok Ya'll it's Your Turn to Talk
04/03/07

I think I'm fighting with the flu ... Yes, I'm taking appropriate non-drugs and drugs ... so don't leave me any drug advice ... I have enough!

Instead, what I really want is to hear from you about you and yours. And feel free to talk among yourselves ... leave notes for each other ...

I just feel too brainless to even go look at my feed reader ... so if you've written something you want me to know about ... leave me a link.

If you've found something fantastic out on the web lately ... leave me a link.

If your dog had puppies, tell me about it.

Ya get the idea?

I'll be fading in and out ... so have fun.

And for pities sake don't say "oh I'm so sorry your sick." I don't need to be reminded. I going to assume you aren't jumping up and down happy. I think you're nicer than that.

I enjoy your comments. And I want you to enjoy reading each other's comments. To that end purpose, I moderate comments. If you're impatient, MeeboMe.

Commenting Ideas
  • If you do not have a blog or site, skip the "web site" line, pull a name or "handle" out of your head, write a note, push the button. (No excuses!)
  • If this entry reminds you of a story of a similar place in time in your life, you are welcome to tell your story.
  • If you discover your story is taking more than 3 or 4 paragraphs (and if you have a place on the web for your writings), I will not be insulted if you take your story back and finish it at your own site. But then I will be disappointed if you don't come back and leave me a summary of your story and a link -- in the comments.
  • If you have already written a story about a similar place in time, please feel free to leave a summary and a link.
  • It's never too late to make a comment or tell a story.

That last paragraph is hilarious. Get well.

I did the wikipedia birthday meme for Clare and myself. It's at My Name is Darren and I'm a Wikipediaholic.

~ LOL The title alone is enough to guarantee a good read! I'll be right over. ~pam

Okay, so I know I am an introvert, but I am usually able to babble on for quite long periods about absolutely nothing. So tell me, why is it that the minute someone tells me to go ahead and talk I am struck with sudden onset tongue paralysis(or in this case, finger paralysis)?

I gave in to the trend of interview memes and have interviews as conducted by Mary and Oddmix over at my place if you're in a "fading in" spot and feel inclined to stop by.

-t

~ LOL ok I will have to come give a look. I read OddMix's answers but I've missed Mary's and ... I'm not sure I understand this meme ... Not that clarity has been my strong suit this week. So maybe by the time I finish reading yours and Mary's, I'll understand ... especially since I seem to be "fading in" a little more often."

Thanks for the note!

Hi, Ok i finally posted the wiki and book meme. I had them done a few weeks ago but hadn't put in the directions.

Also, what's happened to Shifting Gears: Tx to OR?

~ I was thinking about that just this morning. It got kind of tangled up when I wanted to start adding photos and we entered the computer wars at the same time. Now, I'm kind of without excuse.

Well except that I'm firing on either one or two braincells at the moment. I don't know what this stuff is but it's eating my brain and there's nothing left in there but fog.

I'll ck your blog tomorrow. Really ...

Dudette, I've been sidelined by an unexpected trip and unexpected time sucking by the elementary school yearbook, etc. I hope by now you are feeling better. I'll work up some questions for you but it might be Monday before I get them to you.

My trip was up to Northern Cal to see a friend. Her mom just had surgery to remove a cancerous kidney. There had been a few complications and she needed a friend. It was good to get away to see her for those couple of days. We went to a bead shop while I was there and I made a pretty little necklace with a cross and black Czech glass.

My daughter came home from school sick today. I felt so bad because she complained this morning to say she didn't feel good and I didn't even consider that she was telling the truth! How bad is that? She's been so ready for Spring break though, and complaining at every turn so I turned a deaf ear.

Umm... I think that's it for now. Blog at ya later.

~ Friends are most precious in times like these. I'm glad you were able to go.

EVERYbody who reads this far into this post should go read Mary-Lue's bit that she wrote when she got back: What Mary-LUE Found There. It's too funny.

I didn't know it was possible to have spring fever in so.cal. As in I didn't think ya'll had winter. Listen ... there's nothing really green up here and yet last Sunday ... EVERYbody was out just cruising the hills and the Hudson Valley even with the sky gray and threatening to rain! EVEN the Shelbie dog has spring fever and can't understand why I won't leave the door standing open or why we haven't at least been out to tour the property line -- after all 36 is warmer than 20 and I do keep getting up out of bed.

Give your daughter a hug. I hope she's not gonna have a week like I've had ... besides she's had enough ickyness and isn't she due up for a spring break? (ohp yep she is!)

So good to have you back, Mary-LUE!

Hey Pam,

You are right about us not having much (read: any) sort of winter here. But, we do go from tawny brown to vibrant green if we get enough rain. The roses are blooming and the breezes are blowing.

I think, for my two kids in particular, that more than a "Spring" weather break, they need a vacation from structure. There's a look in their eyes like a wild animal trapped in a cage. They need some freedom! ;)

36 degrees, eh? Sounds positively balmy.

~ LOL I totally relate to the "wild animal trapped in a cage" feeling ... it's starting to creep up on me now and I remember it in my kids (we didn't home school every child every year).

See the roses and breezes thing ... that is not helping my caged up feeling. Soo uh does that pottery shop have windows overlooking great scenery? Can I come join Marley?

Hope your feeling better by now. I've been rather MIA lately as well. My pre-k assessments are due this week, so while I've been glued to the computer getting all 40 of them done, it's been strictly work. :)

~ Hey! Yes, thank you. I am doing better. You teachers have my deepest admiration. I don't know how in the world a body teaches all day and then goes home and tries to deal with life and the fact that the job follows you home! I bet you are really looking forward to the summer. ~pam

My website is largely my memoir ... my musings, photos, encounters, life's stories.

But what really thrills me is that when I let go of my stories, it's like sending out little sail boats out on expeditions. Very often they come back to me filled with other people's stories. Continue...
