| | Voices in my Cell Phone 05/10/08
Well ... so I'm not writing everyday ... but I am collecting every day ... so let me get you a bit caught up. We start with my cell phone. My cell phone is my only phone -- as long as you don't count Skype. I don't count Skype because no one calls me on Skype. Friday May 2 - Friend L (FL): Are you going to the quilt show with us tomorrow?
- Me: Yes, I'd love to go
- Insert opportunity for new addiction. If I just had a sewing machine ...
Oh wait ... I do ... Oh wait ... it's in storage ... in Texas ...
Saturday May 3 - The Man: I've been able to get the reservations at the campground. We're taking the 2.5hr hike in.
- Me: Great!
Sunday May 4 Monday May 5 - Great day of rest and recovery.
- Late evening conversation -- Me to FL: Yes, I'm nearly able to move again. Yes, FIVE hours! Straight up -- no switchbacks. Even in the campground it's a steep hike up and down the mountain to the bathhouse.
- FL (through tears of laughter): You got pics? Tell me you got pics.
- Me: Um well I was shaking from exhaustion and too tired to care.
- FL: Well, at least get a pic of the trek to the bathhouse. Oh, and your
dog is cop'n a 'tude. - Me: My dog? Cop a 'tude? How could that be?
Tuesday May 6 Wednesday May 7 - Me to FL: We're having a meal crisis. Billy says to order pizza & invite ya'll over.
- FL: That doesn't work. Put your shoes on. The Girl & I are on our way to Mt. Kisco. We'll be to your house in 3 min. (FL's daughter who has dubbed us Aunt Pam & Uncle Billy.)
- Me: Okay Bye!
~~~~ - Me to The Man: I'm on my way to Kisco with FL & The Girl.
- The Man: Should I get off the train & meet ya'll?
- Me: Well, if you do, you're stuck having Wednesday Wings at Kelly's.
- The Man: Okay I gotta hang up. The next stop is Kisco.
Thursday May 8 - Daughter S: I just had one last sonogram. I keep measuring a little small. They just wanted to be sure.
- Me: Have they noticed you're a little small? And do you know there's not a history of large babies in the family?
- Daughter S: Yeah. The sonogram tech's not allowed to discuss anything but she was totally relaxed. And the mid-wife feels confident. It's just to be sure. Anyway, I thought I'd call since I'm thinking of you AND it's during your waking hours.
- Me: Yes, I was just telling a friend that tomorrow's your last day at work & I intend to take advantage of this window when I can call during the day without any concerns of interrupting something or upsetting someone.
- Daughter S: Well, and I just got an iPhone so you can email me, too. Hubby S got a nice deal on it.
- Me: Oh and how do you like it?
- Daughter S: I love it! He's brought home other PDA's and the like and I've played with them some but this I really do USE.
- ... and so she returned to work ... and I encountered green envy.
~~~~ - Me to FL: Yeah, it's really poison ivy & it's making me feel sick. I'd better beg off going shopping with The Girl.
- That was a bummer. We were suppose to go shopping for FL's Mother's Day gift. Yes, they had a Plan B ... and I have a Plan C ... but shh that's a secret.
Friday May 9 - FL: You going to be up to going to "stamping" tonight?
- Me: Yeah I'm doing much better today. I'd really like to stay home but I know I'll enjoy it when I get there.
- ... I know probably each one of us said this. There's been so much going on for so many. But most of us showed up and we had a really great time. I'll show you one of the cards we made at some point. And if anyone wants to buy some stamping supplies, give a yell. I'm officially a distributor.
Saturday May 10 - The Man: They have some little candles here but everything is purple and the candles here are light blue.
- Me: Oh that will work out just fine. Blues always blend with purple.
- ... He's still not too sure if he should believe this. ... Yes, tonight the guys are throwing another dinner for the ladies in the church and we have a plan to recipicate with a picnic in June. Hopefully it will warm up between here and there.

| I enjoy your comments. And I want you to enjoy reading each other's comments. To that end purpose, I moderate comments. If you're impatient, MeeboMe.
Commenting Ideas- If you do not have a blog or site, skip the "web site" line, pull a name or "handle" out of your head, write a note, push the button. (No excuses!)
- If this entry reminds you of a story of a similar place in time in your life, you are welcome to tell your story.
- If you discover your story is taking more than 3 or 4 paragraphs (and if you have a place on the web for your writings), I will not be insulted if you take your story back and finish it at your own site. But then I will be disappointed if you don't come back and leave me a summary of your story and a link -- in the comments.
- If you have already written a story about a similar place in time, please feel free to leave a summary and a link.
- It's never too late to make a comment or tell a story.

But what really thrills me is that when I let go of my stories, it's like sending out little sail boats out on expeditions. Very often they come back to me filled with other people's stories. Continue... | Respecting your Privacy10/25/06I do not collect your private info unless ... Continue... |
