What if ... What if John Eldridge is right in his book Waking the Dead? What if all those things that I hear in my head ... all those little lines that attack what I love to do ...
You know the ones. You've heard them, too. You have your own version of ...
- "Your arts are good but they aren't good enough for ...."
- "You confuse people and they'll never "get" you."
- "No one is really interested in you -- how you see the world -- not in print nor photography."
- And of course, there's a plethera of lines that begin, "Who are you to think that you can be successful in ..."
What if ... What if John is right? What if every time I agree with one of these statements, I'm agreeing with The Evil One? Entering into a subtle pact that I will not enter into anything that could possibly let my light shine ...
Is this not the same as entering into a pact that aligns me against God and the very hopes and dreams and loves that He has given me?
What if there's more to overcome than just my little self-doubts? What if this is war?
