Telling My Stories and Discovering Your Stories
The Enchanted Valley
Into the Enchanted Valley We Went
We climbed to the top but it was nowhere near the top. We went to the top of Multnomah Falls and discovered we were just dropping over a little ridge down into a valley. The river in the valley has many beautiful falls and ultimately creates Multnomah Falls.

The mountains here are volcanic and their sides are made up of ridges and valleys running from top to bottom all the way around the mountain. The ridges themselves are very steep and the valleys are deep.

We followed the path in the valley for a little more than an hour before the light threatened to completely leave us. Reluctantly we turned back. It took us almost five hours to meander our way up. It took us about an hour to run back down. The light disappeared just as we reached the bridge to cross over Multnomah Falls. From that point down it is fairly simple walk down. We used our cell phones for light in the switchbacks because they could be a little vague and rough.

It was an exhilarating experience!
